The author of "The Twilight Zone Companion", Marc Scott Zicree was born in Santa Monica, California. He has a Bachelor of Arts in painting, sculpture and graphic arts from UCLA, and a Master of Fine Arts from Lowell Darling's School of Fine Art.
In 1977, he started a five year process to write his famous book "The Twilight Zone Companion" interviewing dozens of writers and actors from the series, screening episodes, reading teleplays and transcribing tapes. His book noted many interesting facts, such as the actor who appeared in the most Twilight Zone episodes was Jay Overholts, he was in eight.
This fascinating book was rejected by more than 25 publishers (what do they know?) and then went on to become a best-seller and get an American Book Award nomination. In addition, Marc has written 15 screenplays and over 100 teleplays. He has been a guest on over 100 radio and TV shows, including "The Today Show," "All Things Considered" and "Entertainment Tonight."
He currently writes bestselling novels, writes and produces TV series, network pilots and feature films, and has also been a commentator on NPR's Morning Edition.
He lives in West Hollywood, California, with his wife, writer-producer Elaine Zicree, and their vile little dog Callie.
